Funäsdalen - A living mountain village
Welcome to Funäsdalen - a vibrant mountain village in Härjedalen
Funäsdalen (South Sami: Bienjedaelie) is located in Härjedalen near the Norwegian border and has a long history. Today it is best known as an award-winning ski resort, but it is also the center of South Sami culture. With a long and solid culture of welcoming visitors, Hotell Funäsdalen is one of the more classic hotels in the Swedish mountains, dating back to 1947.
Today, Funäsdalen has just over a thousand inhabitants, but in winter the number multiplies. The mountain village is the hub of Funäsfjällen, and the first destination you arrive at by car. At the foot of Funäsdalsberget lies the village with sports and grocery stores, restaurants, systembolaget, museum and pastry shops. Welcome to a real mountain village.
