Fishing in the mountains

Fishing in Funäsdalen - the mountains' own Eldorado

In Funäsdalen you will find over 200 mountain lakes and more than 300 kilometers of flowing water where grayling, char and trout thrive. Here you can choose between fly fishing in crystal clear mountain streams, spinning from the shore or a quiet moment with a casting rod from the oak. With nature as a backdrop, every fishing trip is an experience - whether you are an experienced fisherman or just want to try your luck.

The fishing pass - the key to world-class mountain fishing

The Funäsfjällen fishing pass gives you access to one of Sweden's largest fishing areas, totaling around 15,000 hectares. The pass is valid in all licensed fishing waters in western Härjedalen and covers both lakes and flowing water. This means that you can fish in a new lake almost every day, often completely undisturbed. The fishing pass is personal and is also valid for young people under the age of 16 who accompany the cardholder.

Rent a boat and discover the lakes from the water

Do you want to experience Funäsdalen from a new angle? Then you can rent a boat via Tännäs-Funäsdalen FVO. Boats are available in seven different lakes, and in Funäsdalssjön they are just a stone's throw from Hotell Funäsdalen. Gliding out on the water provides both peace and freedom - and increases the chances of finding the best bite of the day.

10 Golden waters - easy to find favorites

For those who want simple but rewarding fishing adventures, there are Funäsfjällen's 10 Golden Waters. These selected lakes and watercourses are signposted, easy to reach and several of them are adapted for the disabled. The fact that they also offer really good fishing makes them perfect choices for both families with children and beginners.

Funäsfjällen fishing guide - your best friend on the water

With over 200 lakes, it can be difficult to choose. That's why Funäsfjällen's Fishing Guide is available, a complete handbook with maps, tips and information about the fishing waters in the area. The guide is included when you buy the Fishing Pass, but can also be purchased separately - both in printed form and digitally. It's the perfect tool to help you find your new favorite water.
