Start the walk in the Gondola

Want to get up the mountain quickly? Then you can take the gondola from the village directly up Funäsdalsberget. Several trails start from there, both shorter walks and longer tours. Here you can start the day with an easy hike, enjoy the view of the village and the lake and then finish with a coffee at the top cabin.

Hiking for everyone

Some of our favorites

Livsäterån

One of Funäsdalen's most popular tours runs along the rippling Livsäterån river. Here you follow the water's path through lush mountain forest, over footbridges and past small rapids that rush down the slopes. The tour is long enough for half a day and is suitable for both adults and children. Feel free to pack a snack - there are plenty of cozy places by the river to stop at.

The Long Mountain Tour

Take the gondola up Funäsdalsberget and start your tour with an easy hike along the ridge. Here, sweeping views of the entire mountain world of Västra Härjedalen await - a view that makes every step worthwhile. The path then leads you down to the village, where the hike ends with a walk through Fornminnesparken.

Tvärån

Tvärån is a charming hike that offers both mountain forest, open spaces and sparkling water. The path winds along the river, and you can hear the rippling water almost all the way. It's a reasonably tough hike that feels both varied and accessible, and is well suited for a day trip. With a little luck, you'll see both birds and mountain flowers along the way.

Hiking from summer to fall

Mountain hiking in Funäsdalen is not just a summer activity. Long into the fall, the trails beckon with vibrant colors, fresh air and tranquility. Hiking in late summer and fall also means fewer hikers on the trails - perfect for those who want more privacy and peace.

Child-friendly mountain hiking for the whole family

Hiking in Funäsdalen is not just for experienced mountain hikers. There are plenty of tours suitable for families with children and beginners. Shorter loops around lakes, trails with footbridges and easy paths make it possible for everyone to get out and enjoy.
